sitgreaves street

Sitgreaves Street was named, I assume (I am unable to find definitive proof), for Captain Lorenzo Sitgreaves (1811- 1888) of the U. S. Topographical Engineers who led an exploration party in 1851 from Santa Fe through Zuni and Flagstaff to Yuma and San Diego. He also stopped at Wupatki, led there by Antoine Leroux.

  2. You are making Sitgreaves into a household name and awakening us to long-forgotten history. You do that for me spiritually too.
Keep on enjoying; I appreciate your sharing!
