seeing what is

I took a self-absorbed man for a walk in the forest once. Once. He saw nothing but his own image amidst his constant blather. I side-stepped away from him without his immediate notice. After a while he began calling out. He did not know north or south or west or east, and by any one of those, direction home. Closing of the mouth and silent mind are essential for seeing. This is why I mostly walk by myself.
