Sitgreaves Street was named, I assume (I am unable to find definitive proof), for Captain Lorenzo Sitgreaves (1811- 1888) of the U. S. Topographical Engineers who led an exploration party in 1851 from Santa Fe through Zuni and Flagstaff to Yuma and San Diego. He also stopped at Wupatki, led there by Antoine Leroux.
