Mike's Pike, the street that angles behind Granny's Kitchen on Milton, was once the main street of Flagstaff and a stretch of Route 66. In walking Flagstaff today, I bumped into Jeff Maurer at 100 Mike's Pike. He told me the story of a Mr. Banal (see old photograph) who lived in the home (photo) behind the current art studio, had a gas station on the premises and cabins (see photos) for Route 66 tourists.
